This last week, Jean3 raised a good point or two in her comment dated August 23. Can bigger girls wear skinny jeans? Of course they can!
I believe it's really important to know your body and know what suits you, your body type and what you feel comfortable and confident in. This is crucial in pulling off any look or outfit.
I know of women who are a size 16-18 and wear skinny jeans and they look fabulous! Not all styles are going to "fit/suit" every body so it is key in understanding what works for you.
I personally am a fan of the skinny jean. It doesn't mean you buy a size too small or anything like that. Try clothes on, check yourself out in them and possibly get a second or third opinion. This never hurt anyone. In fact, I'd recommend you do the above until you get a sense of your own style and first hand experience of what looks good on you and you gain confidence in what looks good on your frame/body.
If you're not comfortable in skinny jeans, that's OK. There is nothing wrong with that. Not all styles are going to work for everyone and every body.
I'm simply letting you know what the trends are if you are interested in knowing what is fashionable on the streets of New York for the upcoming seasons. That's NOT to say that other styles aren't or that you shouldn't be seen in anything but.
For example, a boot-cut or flare style jean is always flattering to those who have heavier legs than upper body and aren't comfortable in leg defining skinny jeans. Again... know your body type and what works for you.
It may take some time to master however, take your time and be patient. Don't be afraid to try new styles, colours and approaches. This is how we learn to look good and feel great about ourselves... no matter what size we are.
Have a wonderful week.
Be well.

As I represent the average size of the Australian woman, I hope to show you that beauty, choice and confidence has nothing to do with the size you are. SARA is an innovative, stylish and exciting fashion label that embraces the every day lifestyle of full-figured and curvy women.
